Christopher Stubbs

Samuel C. Moncher Professor of Physics and of Astronomy
Christopher Stubbs

Stubbs earned his PhD at the University of Washington, doing a tabletop precision test of gravity. As a postdoc at UC Berkeley he failed to find the dark matter, while searching for both WIMPs and MACHOs. As a member of one of the two teams that discovered the accelerating expansion of the Universe, he entered into a dark-energy-driven state of confusion that persists to this day. He joined the Harvard faculty in 2003, and serves as a Professor in both the Department of Physics and the Department of Astronomy.
